So y'all thought I wasn't serious about these adventures? Well I am, and this time I vlogged it for ya. I visited the beautiful botanical gardens at Huntington Library and let me just tell you: if you're ever in LA I highly recommend making it a point to visit. It's absolutely beautiful and there's so much to see. There are several different grounds including the desert, Australian, Camellia and Chinese gardens. My personal favorite was of course the rose garden, and I read that it's even prettier in the spring when the roses are fully blossomed. Scroll down for some photos and the vlog.
One of the first things my husband and I did when we moved to California was adopted a dog. A then 8 month old miniature pinscher who we named Cali - pun intended. Cali is super energetic and playful. She knows about 15 commands (and counting) and she's also a model! Just kidding about the model part. But thanks to my amazing photography skills, I've been able to capture some awesome photos of her that I wanted to share!
Do you have any pets? Let me know in the comments!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Instead of making a new years resolution (which I seldom do) this year, I decided that the main thing I want to focus on is being more adventures. I want to see new things, meet more people and visit new places. I'm the kind of person that usually sticks with what I like, but I realized that being closed off to new things could potentially be blocking my growth as a person.

I kicked off my first adventure this past Saturday by visiting Sunken City in San Pedro. Sunken City is located on a cliff, and is the remains of a land slide that happened a few decades ago. It's said to look like a "post apocalyptic world," whatever that means.
Sunken City is filled with amazing street art, palm trees and a fantastic view of the ocean. It's an awesome place to take photos and just vibe out. There were people doing art, journaling, listening to music, and just hangin' with friends. I have to warn you that hopping the fence to get there is technically trespassing, but thousands of people do it every week without a problem. So, if you decide to go - enter at your own risk. Checkout the action below.
Sunken City is located at 500 W Paseo Del Mar, San Pedro, CA, 90731. If you're interested in going I recommend looking at reviews on yelp for more details on how to enter and what to wear!
Today marks a year since I visited the happy island that is Aruba. One fascinating fact that I learned while I was there is that the rocky and dry land is not suitable for growing crops. Therefore, basically all of the food is imported. The island makes a big chunk of their money off of tourists.
Many of the natives on Aruba speak Dutch, Spanish, English and the native tongue, Papiamento. It amazes me how people in other parts of the world speak 3/4 languages minimum, and most people in the U.S. can barely put a sentence together in Spanish despite taking years of it in high school (myself included). America can certainly learn a thing or two. Just saying. Anywho, here are some of my favorite photos that I took from the trip.
I recently had to completely change my beauty routine since moving to the west coast to accommodate my now oily-than-ever skin. I've been testing out a bunch of products these last few months and I've narrowed it down to 5 products that work really well for me! I've included links for each product so if you have oily skin and interested in trying any of these products just click the link!
For primer I've been using NYX Shine Killer and I love that you can use it in a few different ways. You can use it alone, under makeup, or on top of makeup! It's a gel-like consistency which I'm typically not crazy about however, it's very light weight once blended into the skin.
I went into Sephora originally to pick up the Urban Decay All Nighter setting spray but decided to try the De-Slick Oil Control makeup setting spray instead. This stuff really stands up against LA summer heat and I noticed that when I spray this, my skin isn't as oily throughout the day.
I've been using the Gimme Brow Volumizing Fiber Gel for about 4 months now and I cannot leave the house without it. The tiny bristles are perfect for taming your brows and keeping the hairs in place all day long.
I love the NYX Retractable Lip Liner in sand beige. It's the perfect "my lips but better color." Highly recommend if you have chestnut colored lips because it lasts all day long and doesn't transfer.
I hope you all enjoyed this post give these products a try! XO
